The palace is decorated extensively with the finest tile work of the workshops of Iznik. Ottoman tile work was revered around the world but the very finest examples ended up at Topkapi. Many of the tiles date from the late 1400s to the mid-19th century. Tile wears well making them as bright and beautiful as the day they were made.
